  • Performed maintenance, operation, and hardware building, installation and design duties on UNIX server clusters for EA/Origin's MMORPG Ultima Online.
  • During this period, Ultima Online had an average of 250,000 active subscribers. Server clusters consisted of seven IBM-PC servers running a UNIX operating system. Origin's networking department was responsible for deploying and maintaining 150+ servers located throughout the United States, Europe and Asia.

 Northwest Alabama Bureau Chief • 1996-1997

  • Managed a four-county-coverage television news bureau in Northwest Alabama. Duties included generating, writing and editing multiple news stories per day to be reported live during station evening newscasts. Duties also included building and maintaining contacts and news sources, monitoring police, fire and emergency management communications and providing 24 hour/7 day a week on-call coverage for breaking news events in the bureau's coverage area.

  • Responsible for deploying the station's satellite truck to locations inaccessible by conventional live technology for live on-air reporting during the station's newscasts. Also responsible for locating and tuning in satellites, uploading and downloading video from and to the truck, and shooting and editing video shot at remote locations.
